James (Mark) Kiely,
MD, FACS, FASCRS
Dr. Kiely was previously in academic colon and rectal surgery practice in Columbia University Medical Center, New York. Prior to this he was in academic practice at Baystate Medical Center for five years. Dr. Kiely completed his Clinical Fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Cleveland Clinic Ohio in 2011 and General Surgery residency training at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2010. ​ His clinical interests encompass the whole of colorectal surgery including benign and malignant conditions, abdominal and pelvic, as well as anorectal procedures. He has specific expertise in robotic rectal cancer surgery, Crohn’s/inflammatory bowel disease management, sphincter-sparing anal-fistula surgery (LIFT) procedure and abdominopelvic reoperative surgery. He has a keen interest in research and is an author on numerous publications in peer-reviewed journals, published abstracts, oral presentations, and book chapters. He is board certified in both general surgery and colorectal surgery.
